State regulation of food prices can lead to a shortage of goods. After all, a lot of them will simply abandon production because of such conditions.

This opinion was expressed by the UAC Deputy Chairman Denys Marchuk on his Facebook page.

"If the state regulates how much oil will cost, let them say that the price of gas for industrial production will also be UAH8,000 per thousand cubic meters, instead of UAH45,000-50,000 as it is now. If they say that they will regulate the price of oil, then the prices for mineral fertilizers should also remain at the level of UAH6,000-7,000 per ton, you will not buy more expensive at UAH22,000 per ton," said Marchuk.

According to him, this is the so-called "sweet cake" about which is told from stands to people. However, in practice it is unreal. And if the state begins to regulate prices with such mechanisms, it will not be possible to build a market economy.

"We will return to the socialism that the Soviet Union wanted to build, where the planned economy worked due to the fact that the state gave compensation to those who sold at a price that was dictated by the state. Nobody receives such compensations, and nobody talks about the system of state support at the level of the prices which are formed and the support that farmers would receive for growing their products,” the UAC Deputy Chairman summed up.

We will remind, in the Verkhovna Rada it was offered to regulate the prices for sunflower oil.
