The Ukrainian soybean market slowed down last week. Prices are at the level of UAH 17,000-17,500/t. In the future, soybean market will be affected by the situation in Argentina, where a decrease in production due to weather conditions can be expected.

This was discussed on February 14 during the weekly briefing organized by the analytical center "PUSK", created within the framework of the UAC.

Currently, the soybean market is inactive.

"Ukrainian processors offer prices for soybeans in the range of UAH 17,000-17,500/t, in ports the indicators are at the level of $450/t, while in Odesa there is no activity regarding soybeans. Romania is not active in importing soybeans, a lot was purchased in February, now the market is on pause," said analyst Oleksiy Tartakovskyi.

However, global news can provide the rise of trends in the Ukrainian soybean market in the long term.

"Argentina, where soybean production is reducing, will be in the focus. This country will set trends in the oilseed market. Today, Argentina is a marker of processed products markets. It is likely that we will see a global increase in soybean prices, which Ukraine will experience over some time. As already mentioned, the domestic market of oilseeds will stand still for a certain time, and then it will move due to the increase in stock prices. Ports will become more active, liquidity will increase, as well as purchase prices for soybeans in Ukraine," the analyst added.
