Indicative soybean prices in Ukraine may continue to rise in the coming weeks, driven by limited raw material supplies at processing plants and increasing prices for soybean meal.
This was reported by analysts of the First Ukrainian Agricultural Cooperative (FUAC), established within theUkrainian Agri Council (UAC).
"The soybean market is gradually becoming more active. Rising soybean meal prices are encouraging processors to increase purchases, while available raw material supplies remain limited. Last week alone, the market gained approximately UAH 200–300 per ton. This is only the first signal of a potential upward trend. We expect further strengthening in the GMO soybean segment. The next target for the market is UAH 22,700–23,000 per ton, a level that processors could reach as early as June or July. If this scenario materializes, it may provide a favorable opportunity for producers to sell accumulated stocks," the analysts noted.
At the same time, export demand remains unevenly distributed between non-GMO soybeans and GMO products.
"Trading activity at the ports is currently focused primarily on non-GMO soybeans. Demand for GMO soybeans remains sporadic, with no consistent purchasing activity in this segment. For non-GMO soybeans, demand is currently forming at around $470–475 per metric ton," FUAC analysts added.
