Representatives of the Ukrainian Agri Council participated in the online meeting of the Ministry of Economic Development and Industry on the work of the agricultural industry for the period of quarantine.
The participants of the meeting discussed critical issues for the agrarian sector during the quarantine. In particular, agricultural producers have heard the clear position of the Ministry that agricultural and food processing enterprises will continue to operate during the quarantine period.
"At present, the issue of the state of emergency is out of the question. The ministry plans to go by identifying critical industries that are required to operate, rather than individual businesses," UAC Chairman Andriy Dykun said.
The government also does not plan to restrict the operation of production, processing, transportation and distribution of agricultural products. Including - restrictions on movement of machinery, people, special transportations, supplies of seeds, spare parts, fertilizers.
The ministry also assured that there is currently no reason to restrict or prohibit the export / import of live animals and agricultural products. However, during the import of live animals during the quarantine period, it should be borne in mind that the number of border crossing points decreased significantly.
At the same time, the ministry is in favor of maintaining the open work of the agri-food markets. The relevant resolution is to be considered at the March 25 government meeting. The ministry is also currently preparing guidance on the conservation of biosecurity for livestock farms and processing facilities that require round-the-clock work.
