In 2017, Volyn produced a record amount of sugar in the history of Ukraine's independence.

According to the director of the department of agro-industrial development Yury Gorbenko, this year the region will be able to increase sugar beet crops, since in 2017 the third of four factories - Agro Express-Service - has earned a living.

In 2018, for the advance of sugar beet producers, the agro holding "Astarta-Kiev" will spend 120 million UAH. Inna Yefimchuk, the head of the department for stockpiling of raw materials "Astarta-Kyiv", stated this.

"This year we plan to increase the share of foreign raw materials for processing at sugar factories. The amount of foreign raw material, above all, is connected with our capacities and possibilities of processing, "- said Inna Yefimchuk.

According to her, in 2017, the share of foreign raw material exceeded 30%, and in general it was harvested almost 3.1 million tons of sugar beet (including the harvest of the agricultural company "Astarta").

The company already concludes contracts with farms, which will supply raw materials for the plants "Astarta-Kiev". At the same time, the company does not plan to increase the distance of transportation and to go beyond the radius of 100 km.
