Ukraine is already harvesting a new rapeseed crop. According to preliminary forecasts, farmers expected a high yield of oilseed, but official data show that the average yield of rapeseed is still low - 1.2-1.3 t/ha.
It is expected that yields may level off in the future, but there will be no record harvest. Rapeseed prices have started to rise sharply, and this trend will continue both in Ukraine and globally.
This was discussed on July 4 during a weekly briefing organized by the analytical center of the PUSK cooperative, created within the UAC.
"We are observing a rise in rapeseed prices. At small river ports, the indicative prices for the week increased from 330 EUR/t to 345 EUR/t. The supply of Ukrainian rapeseed was low last week, and it will not be changed quickly, as the harvesting has started recently. Therefore, we can expect that prices in small ports will increase to 348 EUR/t by the end of the week, and on CPT terms - to 355-360 EUR/t in the coming weeks," is mentioned by the analytical department of PUSK cooperative.
Processors announce the purchase prices for rapeseed in a wide range, depending on the region – 12,300-13,200 UAH/t, the lowest prices are currently in Odesa region.
The world prices for biodiesel are growing again, vegetable oils are getting more expensive, so rapeseed will grow in price on the exchanges. However, July and early August will be unfavorable for sales due to the pressure of the new harvest.
