By mid-October, indicative prices for barley in Ukraine will have remained unchanged, $185-190 CPT Odesa, but they will have increased in European ports.
The analytical center of the "PUSK" reported about that on October 4 during a weekly briefing for farmers.
News about the possible termination of the Istanbul Agreement is a negative factor, that leads to the lowering of Ukrainian prices.
"From September 30 to October 3, it was impossible to fix barley prices in Odesa ports due to bad news. Currently, traders do not believe in the further effect of the "grain corridor", they are trying to sell the maximum now. Until October 20, there will be no CPT price on the market in Odessa ports, the indicator will remain at the level of $185-190 CPT Odesa. It is likely that liquidity at the ports will decrease to zero, barley will not be bought," predicts analyst Oleksiy Tartakovsky.
At the same time, in the Romanian port of Constanta, as of September 30 barley prices were $240-250 DAP. According to the analyst of the "PUSK", an increase to $260-265 DAP Constanta can be predicted by mid-October.
