On September 29, 2022, a public discussion of legislative initiatives in the agricultural sector is going to be held in Odesa between agricultural producers, the leadership of the Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. The event is organized within the framework of the Food Security Support Program for agricultural producers, which is implemented by the UAC and the support of the USAID Program for Agrarian and Rural Development (AGRO).
The participants of the meeting are going to discuss current problematic issues of farmers in the southern regions. In particular:
- the state of exports and reforms in the field of transportation of agricultural products;
- booking of agricultural enterprises’ employees: postponement, IT solutions to speed up the process;
- overestimated regulatory monetary valuation of land in the south of Ukraine;
- preferential lending to the agricultural sector;
- the problem of non-return of foreign exchange earnings by exporters and the purchase of products without VAT;
- the draft law on operators of state reclamation systems;
- supply of sleeves for storing agricultural products, etc.
