The President of Ukraine has signed the Law “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Protection of Interests of Land Owners and Application of Administrative Procedure in the Field of Land Relations”. This step significantly simplifies the procedure for establishing Water Users Organizations (WUOs) and supports the development of irrigation systems.
According to the new law, it is no longer necessary to obtain permits from local governments when ordering and preparing land management documentation for the inclusion of reclamation networks in the State Land Cadastre. This decision eliminates unnecessary bureaucratic obstacles that previously often hindered the inventory and development of reclamation infrastructure due to the lack of understanding of the importance of irrigation projects by local authorities.
The Ukrainian Agri Council has repeatedly advocated for the abolition of this outdated regulation, emphasizing the need to support irrigation initiatives. Now, with the signing of the law, agricultural producers will be able to implement irrigation projects more quickly.
