The market for cuttings

Since the beginning of the fourth quarter, the purchase price of live pork has changed the movement vector. Thus, according to the results of previous bids, the planned quotations slipped by 0.25-1 UAH / kg, while the average price tag of the 40th week lost half a hryvnia compared to the end of September.

According to the survey of representatives of meat processing industry, purchasing prices for "meat" pigs fluctuate within 47-49 UAH / kg.

Meat processors point out that the cooler weather conditions have positively influenced the supply of cuttings from the side of industrial producers: commodity lots became more homogeneous, animals faster "grow" to slaughter conditions. However, along with the gradual seasonal recovery of pork supply, demand is subject to opposite changes. Thus, operators note the weakening of implementation due to the corresponding change in consumer activity.

However, purchasers consider such a weakening of demand and, accordingly, a shift in prices is quite logical and consistent with the traditional trends of this period.

ASFV

For the period from the beginning of the year 123 cases of ASFV were recorded. In 79 cases, the disease was registered in domestic animals, in 34 - in wild. In ten other cases, the ASFV was detected in infected objects.

The quarantine measures continue to operate in 47 disadvantaged ASFV posts - in 9 oblasts of Ukraine (Odesa (14), Kherson (8), Donetsk (5), Kiev (6), Poltava (4), Sumy (3), Cherkasy (3), Mykolaiv (3) and Rivne (1)).

During the past 6.5 years, 434 outbreaks of African swine fever virus (ASFV) have been registered. The largest number of cases of ASFV occurred in Odesa and Poltava oblasts - 56 and 44 cases. After them there are Mykolaiv and Chernihiv regions - 34 and 31 cases, and Rivne region - 30 cases. The smallest number of outbreaks of ASFV was registered in Lviv oblast - 1 case.
