The second month of summer for the operators of the market of cuttings began relatively calmly and with stable quotes.

Thus, both producers and processors note the unchangeability of prices for live pork compared to the end of June.

According to their feedback, festive weekends, as expected, were not marked by significant surges of consumer activity, so the supply and demand of cuttings remained balanced.

In view of this, the immutability of prices on European markets and, accordingly, the barrier mark, operators expect the upcoming bidding to go as calmly and without a dramatic change in purchasing prices.

Processors predict that the purchase prices will mainly fluctuate within the range of 44.5-45 UAH / kg next week, so one should not reject the possibility of a slight narrowing of the price range by adjusting the minimum price tag.

During January-June, Ukraine received 8.4 thousand tons of fresh, chilled and frozen pig meat with an aggregate value of $ 15.4 million. Such information was released by the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine on the basis of customs statistics.

The three main suppliers of meat raw material to Ukraine have not changed: as in the past year, the main share (almost 56% in the first half of 2018) imported pork comes from Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark.

True, the first of them somewhat weakened the "grip", giving way to leadership in the top three suppliers from the Netherlands (more than 20% of imported pork).

Denmark has also improved its position in the Ukrainian market as compared to the previous year (19.4% this year versus 15.5% in 2017), especially due to activity in June, almost equaling with the Netherlands.

Quarantine measures continue to operate in 25 disadvantaged ASFVs - in 13 regions of Ukraine (Odesa (9), Donetsk (4), Kiev (2), Ternopil (3), Cherkassy (2), Chernivtsi (1), Rivne (1) , Zaporizhzhya (1), Volyn (1), Poltava (1), Zakarpattya (1), Dnipropetrovsk (1) and Sumy (1).
