In the beginning of the third month of summer, prices on the pig market keep "calm" within the range of 44-46 UAH / kg.
Thus, buyers point out the stability of sales and the overall balance between supply and demand on the market.
Of course, seasonal factors affect demand. In particular, in the coastal areas, demand is more active due to the "inflow" of tourists.
As for price expectations, most meat processors are set to continue an unprecedented "price rest".
Thus, almost three quarters of operators believe that the price will vary in the range of 44.5-45 UAH / kg.
The opinions of others were divided. So, some operators believe that the price may increase due to the limited supply of cuttings.
They note that the growth in commodity stock is significantly depressed because of the hot weather conditions, and some producers are forced to delay the sale or sell smaller animals.
Strengthening the influence of this factor on the price in the second half of August and the approach of longer holidays can stimulate a rise in prices.
On the other hand, the importing companies point out that the purchase prices of cuttle beef and, accordingly, pork from the leading European pork producers continue to fall in increments of 2-3 cents / kg per week.
The domestic market can take this trend soon so that the inflow of imported pork does not increase.
