Market prices for pigs' cuttings reached a relative sustainability in mid-May.
According to the results of the monitoring of planned procurement prices during the previous week, the average price tag slightly changed relative to the 19th week index. Communication with representatives of the meat processing industry indicates that the prices for purchasing pigs of the 1st category mostly fluctuated within UAH 44-46/kg.
Thus, the change in the planned prices of pork producers was sporadic and did not exceed UAH 0.5-1/kg.
At the same time, the purchasers noted the balance between the supply of slaughtered pigs and the demand for them.
At the same time, although some market players hear rumors of a possible rise in prices, most respondents do not see the preconditions for positive fluctuations, with the exception of signals of a slight increase in prices in certain EU countries.
At the beginning of the third decade of May, prices for pork live weight were marked by insignificant volatility.
So, if in the previous week the average purchase price was UAH 45.4/kg, then the target mark of the fourth week of May is 0.6% higher - UAH 45.7/kg.
At the end of the 20th week, meat processors in the east of the country and from other areas noted the limited supply of slaughtered sows.
Thus, during the bidding last Friday, some pork producers were able to adjust the purchase price in the direction of the increase by UAH 0.25-1/kg.
In addition to smaller volumes of commodity livestock, the positive effect on the price of its implementation is the approaching three-day outlets through the "green holidays" and the expectation of more active demand for pork in this peduncle.
At the same time, the maximum price tag did not undergo changes, while the lower price threshold was added by half a grivna per kilogram.
