The Professional Branch of the Ukrainian Agrarian Lyceum (UAL) offers vocational education according to the new model
"Today, the Ukrainian agrarian market is very high-tech - using modern technology of foreign companies such as KUHN, PÖTTINGER, CLAAS, ROPA. But the number of specialists who can work with this technique is not enough. Of course, in recent years there has been a retraining of people who have experience in domestic tractors, but the pace of technology development in agro-engineering is increasing and these people simply do not have time. Today, a tractor driver-mechanic is a specialist who not only knows how to drive a tractor, but also knows a foreign language, is able to work in a team, able to quickly change and learn, because in two years, there will be a new tractor and the driver will need to learn new opportunities. Therefore, it is necessary now to update the composition of practicing tractor drivers with young people, who in the future become a pillar of business ", - says the director of the UAL Olena Yaroshynska.
The training will begin on September 1 and will last for 10 months. The student recruitment will last until mid-August. The UAL curriculum includes practical classes based on official dealers of leading world producers of agricultural machinery, two-week internships in Estonia, where students will gain practical skills and become acquainted with European experience, as well as obtain the required level of knowledge of foreign languages (English and German).
The decision to launch the program arose due to the large number of appeals from owners and managers of agrarian business. Owners complain about the shortage of highly skilled personnel - state training programs for training specialists do not meet the requirements of agribusiness and international standards, and when preparing or improving their qualifications in educational institutions, they are guided by the theory and outdated techniques.
