
Traditionally, on June 5, the key event of the Ukrainian horticultural industry took place - V National Garden Day. This time - on the basis of LLC "Obriy" in the village Stroyntsi, Tyrivsky district (Vinnytsya region.)
The organizers of the event were the "Ukrainian Agricultural Council" (UAC) and the agro-consulting company "Dykun".
V National Day of the Garden gathered the maximum number of participants - more than 450 people, of which more than 300 - representatives of agricultural enterprises from different regions of Ukraine. In total, there were representatives of about 200 farms.
The event was solemnly opened by Vice-Chairman of the UAC Denis Marchuk, the head of LLC "Obriy" Andriy Bagriy, the first deputy chairman of the Vinnytsia Regional State Administration Andriy Gizko, and the director of the Department of Agricultural Development, Ecology and Natural Resources of Vinnytsia Oblast State Administration Mykola Tkachuk.
"Such activities are extremely important for the industry. National Day of the Garden has become an effective platform for communicating and exchanging experiences of agrarians from different regions of Ukraine, experienced experts, scientists and practicing consultants. This year, the event was attended by a significant number of participants, indicating a high level of its implementation," said Denis Marchuk.
The structure of the National Day of the Garden was divided into theoretical and practical parts. Thus, within the framework of the event, the most relevant issues of the industry were covered, practical advice and open secrets of effective gardening were provided.
During the theoretical part, the participants listened to the statement of the head of the Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association Fedir Rybalko, who spoke about new export trends, opportunities and threats of domestic fruit and vegetable production.
So, according to him, Ukraine for the first time almost did not import a Polish apple. At the same time, he noted that there is a continuous expansion of export geography. In 2017-2018, Ukrainian apples began to be sold on the Scandinavian market. It took 10 years for this.
In addition, according to the expert, Ukrainian products can successfully compete in the markets of Romania and Bulgaria.
Svyatoslav Sukhanov, an associate professor at the Uman National Horticultural University, candidate of biology, told about new types of potentially dangerous pests of perennial fruit plantations and factors that determine their economic significance.
Stepan Paladi, Commercial Director of Holland Plant Ukraine, talked about new fruit sorts that only appeared in the register.
Oleg Kovalchuk, Project Manager, Green Frost LLC, delivered a presentation on modern ways of storing fruits, vegetables and berries. Presented GIBB plus, which is used to improve the apple ovary, prevent the formation of the net and improve the shape of the fetus.
And Levien Denryuter ("Globachem") told about the rationing of the harvest and the receipt of quality fruit.
"The theoretical part was very useful, because each gardener has questions for which he would like to receive an answer. There is one phrase in the whole seminar or conference, but it will be so important for your economy that even for the sake of this it is worth going to listen to the lecture ", - said the owner of LLC "Obriy" Andriy Bagriy.
At the end of the theoretical part, the participants had an excursion to the farm. They visited the exhibition area, where the leading companies of the market were presented, they studied the technologies of plum, cherry, apple, raspberry and blueberries. Companies-partners at the same time presented 9 different garden cultivating technologies. Thus, gardeners were able to visually assess the benefits of each of them.
The participants then visited the exhibition area of gardening techniques, where they presented: soil mills, contour cutter, mulch, fog generator, specialized garden tool, root cutter, stump shredder, garden tractors, wallpapers, interrow row disc harrows and mowers. Visitors could see the technology in work and statics and learn about technological innovations.
In addition, during the event, the automotive partner of the event – Renault, invited visitors to test drive cars.
After the event, all parties were waiting for a festive banquet with gift wins.
