The Ukrainian Agri Council welcomes the approval by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of Resolution No. 628 “On Amendments to the Procedure for the Use of Funds Provided in the State Budget for Providing State Support to Agricultural Producers Using Reclaimed Land and Water Users' Organizations”.

It is important to note that this resolution was developed with the participation of experts from the UAC

According to the new provisions, agricultural producers using reclaimed land will be able to receive up to 50% compensation for the costs of reconstruction and modernization of existing or construction of new reclamation systems. Water Users’ Organizations (WUOs) will be able to claim up to 50% compensation for the cost of rehabilitating pumping stations.

The amount of assistance for agricultural producers will not exceed UAH 26,500 per 1 hectare of cultivated land subject to hydrotechnical reclamation, excluding the cost of sprinkling-machines.

The budgetary subsidy will be provided for the work performed and the reclamation systems put into operation between November 1, 2023 and October 31, 2024. Applications for budget funds and the necessary documents will be submitted by agricultural producers through the State Agrarian Register.

This resolution is extremely important for farmers. In the context of climate change, decreasing precipitation and increasing dry periods, ensuring an efficient water supply for irrigation of agricultural land is becoming critically important. Hydrotechnical land reclamation can increase yields while reducing the risks associated with adverse weather conditions. With this support, producers will be able to invest in modern reclamation systems, which will contribute to the efficiency and sustainability of the agricultural sector in Ukraine.
