Ukrainian farmers have taken a decisive position in protecting their interests and the domestic agricultural sector. In protest against the actions of Polish agricultural producers who went on strike and blocked the Dorohusk-Yagodyn border crossing point for cargoes with Ukrainian grain, domestic agricultural producers decided to act in a mirror image.

The Ukrainian Agri Council and the Association of Milk Producers announce their intention to go on strike in response to the protest launched by Polish farmers against the transit of domestic agricultural products through Poland.

Ukrainian agricultural producers are blocking the movement of Polish trucks through four international border crossing points: in front of the Dorohusk-Yagodyn border crossing point on the Ukrainian side; in the village of Krakovets near the Krakovets-Korchova international border crossing point; in the village of Rata near the Rava-Ruska international border crossing point; in the village of Shehyni near the Shehyni-Medica international border crossing point, in the village of Starovoitove, Prykordonnykiv Street 1.

The campaign will start on June 10 at 10:00 AM and will last until 00:00 AM on June 14.

The event was held due to the categorical disagreement of Ukrainian farmers with the actions of the Polish side, which unilaterally, in violation of the EU trade rules and the European Commission's decision to resume the transit of Ukrainian agricultural products, continues to physically block trucks from Ukraine to Poland. With this position, Polish farmers are playing into Putin's hands, because they want Ukrainian grain to stay in Ukraine and prices to rise. This is exactly what Russia wants.

The Ukrainian Agri Council is deeply concerned about the situation between the representatives of the agricultural sector of the two countries and the political component, which is hitting the country's economy, which supports not only national but also global food security.

The introduction of unilateral bans on imports and transit will create additional pressure not only on Ukrainian farmers, but will also deepen the global food security crisis. Any speculation on the introduction of a ban on the transit of Ukrainian agri-food products is unacceptable, as it affects not only the economic well-being of European farmers, but also the survival of both Ukrainian farmers and consumers of Ukrainian products around the world.

Because Polish politicians think only about the next election and not about the future of their country, and are unable to explain to their voters what harm they are doing by blocking agricultural products from the country that protects our common borders from the enemy, not only Ukrainians but also Poles will pay the price, and not only with money, but with the peaceful future of their country.

Given the difficult socio-political situation in the neighboring EU countries, we urge all representatives of the Ukrainian agricultural sector to join us in the protest to prevent the destruction of the industry that is the backbone of Ukraine's economy.
