The UAC Chairman Andrii Dykun met with the newly appointed Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitalii Koval. During the meeting, the parties discussed the current situation and challenges facing the agricultural sector.
“One of the key issues we are concerned about it is European integration, as about 40% of all legislative implementation issues relate to the agricultural sector,” said Andrii Dykun.
According to him, for successful European integration, it is necessary to ensure reliable support for farmers, especially in wartime.
“At the meeting, the UAC emphasized the importance of extending the state preferential loan program 5-7-9, which expires in March 2025. In addition, we raised the issue of increasing credit limits to UAH 150 million for agricultural enterprises,” added the UAC Chairman.
Minister Vitalii Koval assured that he clearly understands the challenges faced by the agricultural sector and will make every effort to develop it. He emphasized that the Ministry hears farmers and will actively work to solve urgent problems, as the sector plays a key role in the country's economy.
The problems of farmers who were forced to leave the occupied territories were also discussed.
“We raised the issue of postponing of loans for these farmers, as well as subsidies per hectare in the frontline areas,” said Andrii Dykun.
The UAC plans to organize another meeting with the Minister, where UAC members will be able to discuss important issues directly with the new Head of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
