Despite all the difficulties, Ukrainian grain is being exported. As of October, 1.2 million tons of Ukrainian wheat have been contracted for export. This figure could be higher if Ukraine manages to improve its logistics. However, a logistical collapse is expected in October, as corn harvesting will begin and its supply will increase.

This topic was discussed during the weekly briefing on October 3, organized by the analytical center of the PUSK agricultural cooperative.

"Currently, traders are holding back on wheat contracting as they are waiting for the corn harvest, which could lead to a logistical collapse. Odesa ports are unstable, and rail deliveries to Izmail port are no longer possible, only to Constanta ports. Importers' attention, as far as the EU is concerned, has shifted to grain supplies in November and December. Contracts are signed mainly for feed wheat: there is some demand for it from European importers, and demand from Asian countries is growing. However, most of the key exporters are keeping the price of milling wheat at the same level," is mentioned by the PUSK cooperative.

The conditional prices for feed wheat are in the range of $192-197 per ton. Indicators for milling wheat are $210-212 per ton, with few real deals. Prices on CPT Danube ports are $165-170. No significant price fluctuations are expected on the wheat market in the coming week.
