Because of liquidation of tens of thousands of railway wagons, the owners of car-building plants, who will receive orders, will earn at the expense of business. This opinion was expressed by the UAC Chairman Andrii Dykun.
"We understand that this is a purely lobbying scheme, which is done to load one of the Ukrainian plants that have to build these wagons. I am not against Ukrainian car-building plants, but not at the expense of farmers," he said.
The UAC Chairman explained that the business does not have the funds to purchase a significant number of wagons instead of those that will be liquidated because of the age. Therefore, there will be a serious shortage of wagons on the market, which will lead to contracts’ termination and business losses, which will not be able to transport their products on time.
Owners of car-building plants, who will receive orders for the production of a significant amount of their products due to this decision, should not get rich at the expense of business.
"We are for the renewal of the wagon fleet, but it needs to be done in a planned way. But now there is a situation: these wagons will be taken away, and what will Ukrainian farmers have to do? Go and buy new wagons. And where should we take money? And nobody thought about it. They just have to get this money and buy these cars immediately," Andriy Dykun noted.
He also reminded that in Europe, railway wagons are liquidated not because of their age, but due to their technical condition, so the initiative of the Ukrainian authorities looks no different than a lobbying scheme.
"This is a lobbying scheme for a Ukrainian Kriukiv car-building plant. So, they decided to lobby, take money from the pockets of farmers and transfer them to the pocket of the plant owner. Look who owns this plant - and you will understand everything. One of the Ukrainian oligarchs," summed up the UAC Chairman.
