Farmers, experts and company representatives gathered at the conference “Efficient and Environmentally Friendly Restoration of Agriculture in Ukraine” to discuss innovative solutions in grain storage and eco-friendly material recycling. The event was organized by the Ukrainian Agri Council in cooperation with the Association of Milk Producers and with the support of DOW company.
One of the key issues discussed at the conference was the use and utilization of polymer sleeves for grain storage.
“Modern packaging technologies in polymer sleeves allow storing various types of feed and grain crops, reducing losses and improving product quality. At the same time, an important aspect is the proper collection and utilization of used sleeves - this is the culture that Ukraine is moving towards,” said Valerii Alekseev, the UAC expert.
During the conference, the company demonstrated a used polymer sleeves rewinder.
“We offer a solution that allows not only to store grain efficiently, but also to be responsible for the environment. Used polymer sleeves can be disposed of quickly and without harm to the environment,” said Andrii Smorodin, consultant at AG-BAG.
Special attention was paid to legislative changes in the agricultural sector. Lesia Pankratova, UAC's Accounting and Taxation Consultant, explained the innovations in licensing fuel storage for farmers.
“Starting from January 1, 2025, the procedure for obtaining fuel storage licenses has changed. We have reviewed in detail the algorithm for filling out the application and the organization of fuel accounting at enterprises, which will help to avoid fines and ensure transparency of work.”
Serhii Ulchenko, the UAC Director of Regional Development, spoke about the activities of the Union and the need to unite Ukrainian farmers in the European context.
“Ukraine's agricultural sector must adapt to the new requirements of the European market. This concerns not only technology, but also cooperation, joint development of environmental initiatives and support for sustainable development,” he said.
