When Ukraine was unprepared to face the global pandemic, farmers came to the rescue again. For almost two months, an action "Save the lives of Ukrainians" has been launching across Ukraine, initiated by the Ukrainian Agri Council. The purpose of the action is to support and assist local health care institutions, law enforcement and local governments, and to help the most vulnerable sections of the population in combating the coronavirus epidemic. Small and medium-sized agricultural producers, members of the Ukrainian Agri Council have been united and involved in charity since the early days.
“Agrarians, like all socially responsible businesses, did not stay apart and actively supported the country during such a difficult time: they purchased artificial ventilation devices, individual remedies for doctors, necessary supplies and medicines, and provided food to hospitals and the most vulnerable sections of the population. ", UAC Chairman Andriy Dykun explains.

According to the Chairman of the Ukrainian Agri Council Andriy Dykun, after analyzing the experience of other countries that have suffered significant human losses from the coronavirus and in order to avoid peak loads at the hospital and to protect the most vulnerable to the virus of the population, it was decided for the elderly, lonely people and the needy to be helped with food products. "And since all the participants of the Ukrainian Agri Council are engaged in the cultivation and provision of food, we realized that it is the thing where we can give help , ” Head of the Ukrainian Agri Council Andriy Dykun said.
A food reserve was created by “Niva” LLC AF headed by Mykola Moskovchuk and Konstantin Boychuk's farm in the Kirovohrad region. The enterprises provide foodstuffs to the district hospital on a regular basis, and in the period of the epidemic they additionally formed and distributed about 5 thousand food packages for the elderly of the Blahovishchenskiy District.
And this is not a complete list of support from participants of the Ukrainian Agri Council of Kirovograd region. Only with joint efforts and coordinated action our country can confront the threat of epidemic spread, and that is all the resources of the region's farmers are aimed for.
