In wartime, it is unacceptable for small and medium-sized agricultural businesses to increase land sales limits to 10,000 hectares.

This issue was stated by Denys Marchuk, Deputy Chairman of the UAC, on Channel 5.

"No one is talking about stopping the land market, the turnover will continue, land share owners can use their right to sell their land. However, small and medium-sized businesses, which produce about 70% of agricultural products, have been impoverished during the wartime. Meanwhile, it is small producers who are the founders of the financial component in the united territorial communities. Small and medium-sized agribusiness is the country's defense capability. Owners of agricultural holdings often live abroad, while small and medium-sized farmers create jobs in the country," said Denys Marchuk.

War is not the time to launch a land market.

"It's not the right time to sell land plots for Ukrainian citizens and land share owners. Those with large capital will take advantage of the opportunity. People in difficult circumstances will sell their land for nothing. Every meter of land is paid for with blood, and it is unacceptable to increase the sale limits 100 times during the war," added the Deputy Chairman of the UAC.

The position of the UAC is to prevent an increase in the sale of agricultural land during the war and two years after its end.

"Dialogue with the authorities is necessary. We have not received support from the relevant ministry and the Agrarian Committee of the Verkhovna Rada on the land issue. The UAC initiated an appeal to the President in the form of an electronic petition against the sale of 10,000 hectares of land, which collected 25,000 votes in a short time. Farmers expect a meaningful response and support," summarized Denys Marchuk.
