Even a priority agricultural sector for the state faces tough selection when considering applications for loans from authorized banks.

This statement was mentioned by Mykhailo Sokolov, the UAC Deputy Chairman, reports ubr.ua.

"Many financial institutions were mentally unprepared for wartime, continuing to use peacetime patterns in assessing the risk of lending to potential borrowers," said the Deputy Chairman.

In addition, the UAC emphasizes cases of refusal to receive funds to farmers in regions where hostilities are taking place or have taken place until recently (Kyiv, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv regions), as well as in those areas that were not violated by the war (Odesa region).

"There is enough money allocated by the state, but in practice they do not reach farmers quickly, and the sowing campaign has already begun. We have now raised the issue with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy so that at least state-owned banks change such a policy," the UAC Deputy Chairman mentioned.
