The UAC supports the VAT rate reduction on certain types of agricultural raw materials to 14% and plans to propose a separate bill that would reduce the rate for finished agricultural products in stores.

The UAC Chairman Andriy Dykun reported about that in the comments to the web-site "Apostrophe".

According to his words, the VAT reduction on finished goods will have a positive effect on prices and citizens’ purchasing power. This is proved by the experience of the European Union.

"It would reduce prices in the store, increase demand and consumption, make products more competitive. I think we will propose it as a separate bill through People’s Deputies to make dairy products, meat, vegetables (products, which are the most important for people) cheaper on store shelves. However, the first step has been taken. I think it is a very positive step. Finally, after so many years, we started to think about people" Andriy Dykun said.

He also assured that the budget will receive additional revenues through the legalization of all parts of agriculture sector and the fight against "twists".

There is a position of the Ministry of Finance: the budget of Ukraine does not lose anything. As a business, we have calculated for ourselves, we do not benefit from this thing great profit, but we understand that today that is legalization of all parts of agriculture sector. This is a big plus, because today half of the grain is illegal. In addition, this is a good start: to go to the shop counter and to have there, as in European countries, a reduced VAT rate for our people. After all, VAT payers are citizens," Andriy Dykun added.

The UAC Chairman express his hope that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi will sign the law №3656 adopted in the second reading as soon as possible, and the reduced VAT rate will start working in spring.

"The law has received the support of various factions, there are positive conclusions of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, the Agrarian Committee. I think the law has to be signed. If it happens this month, we will understand that from thwe 1st of March the reduced rate will work," Andriy Dykun added.

We will remind, on the 17th of December the Verkhovna Rada adopted the bill №3656 in the second reading. 255 People’s Deputies supported the document. Earlier, the project received a positive assessment from the State Tax Service and the Ministry of Finance. The largest agrarian associations and most parliamentary factions also supported him. The law reduces VAT from 20% to 14% on cattle and pigs, whole milk, wheat, rye, barley, oats, maize, soybeans, sugar beets, flax seeds, rapeseed, sunflower seeds and other oilseeds.
