Hasty implementation of EU norms will destroy Ukrainian farmers. This opinion was expressed by Denys Marchuk, Deputy Chairman of the UAC, on the TV channel “We Are Ukraine”.

He emphasized that about 40% of European integration changes will affect this particular sector, in particular, the standards of traceability of products, their quality and safety.

“To fully agree to all the requirements set by the EU for Ukrainian producers means to destroy ourselves. In Europe, agricultural policy is constantly changing due to the dissatisfaction of their farmers. We can implement the rules that they are already revising and lose financial opportunities for development,” Marchuk emphasized.

The expert suggests implementing the changes gradually, with a transition period of at least 10 years, to avoid financial losses and take into account the reform of the European agricultural policy itself.
