Today, the Ukrainian Agricultural Council (UAC) in the framework of the “Agroprom Poltava 2018” exhibition met with agricultural producers in the Poltava region, which gathered about 40 participants.

As part of the event, the participants expressed indignation at the state support programs of the agrarian sector, which operated in 2018, and which the government plans to extend next year. According to the farmers, the mechanism of distribution of state support should be transparent, accessible and understandable, while the existing programs are created in favor of the largest players of the market and are ineffective. Thus, according to the official data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, as of August 20, only UAH 777 million was used, which is 12% of the total amount allocated to support the agrarian sector in 2018 (UAH 6.3 billion).

In addition, farmers spoke about the fight against raiding and the need to develop cooperation in Ukraine, in particular, through the activities of the First Ukrainian Agricultural Cooperative (PUSK).

Participants of the meeting spoke about imperfect taxation of the agrarian sector, the need to equalize the tax burden from 1 hectare, and also interested in the provisions of draft law 2496 on a single array of land and collective property.
