The Ukrainian Agri Council supports the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Law on Tax Changes during Martial Law, which provides for a zero rate of excise duty on gasoline, diesel fuel and liquefied gas, as well as a VAT reduction from 20 to 7%.
According to the UAC members, the innovations of the Law have already become an effective mechanism for curbing and leveling the rise in fuel prices, which is extremely important in the current acute shortage of fuel and working capital among farmers.
"The implementation of the spring sowing campaign this year is, in fact, our second front. And the cost of fuel is perhaps the most critical issue for all Ukrainian farmers. Today we see high prices for oil and gas around the world. Therefore, the relevant legislative decision to reduce fuel prices on the eve of sowing is extremely important nowadays. The law came into force a few days ago, and we are already recording the first positive results," said the UAC Chairman Andrii Dykun.
According to Mr. Dykun, such a program is already being implemented on the basis of the First Ukrainian Agricultural Cooperative within the framework of the UAC. "Our members who have placed an order to receive fuel already have the opportunity to purchase it at an affordable price," said the UAC Chairman.
"Currently, fuel prices have begun to fall. And it is already clear that as fast as fuel, that does not need to pay excise duty, will be delivered to the market quickly, we will see fall of prices even more. And this, in turn, will support sowing," said the executive director of the First Ukrainian Agricultural Cooperative Oleksandr Buiukli.
