The All-Ukrainian Agri Council, as a member of the leading agriculture associations that are members of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Forum (UAF), appealed to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal not to introduce a special duty on imports of diesel fuel and liquefied gas, the decision of which was initiated by PJSC “Ukrnafta”, JSC "Ukrgazvydobuvania" and PJSC "Ukrtatnafta".
"We consider the introduction of a special duty on diesel fuel and liquefied gas as an attempt by the oligarchs through the ICIT (Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade) to monopolize virtually the entire industry of oil production in Ukraine, as a result - increase of all oil products value, regardless of their country of origin." – the approach explains.
Agricultural associations warn that the increase of the cost of fuel and liquefied gas will lead to a chain reaction: rising prices for food, transportation, the cost of other consumer goods.
"The first consequences of this decision will be felt by farmers: if the decision is made, we will have to buy diesel at inflated prices. This will increase the agricultural products cost, reduce profitability and, consequently, reduce competitiveness in world markets." - agricultural producers mentions.
Agrarians called on the Prime Minister to prevent the adoption of a destructive decision for Ukraine's economy.
