During a meeting with Danylo Hetmantsev, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy, members of the Ukrainian Agri Council (UAC) together with representatives of leading agricultural associations summarized cooperation in 2024 and identified priorities for 2025.
During the meeting, the UAC representatives raised a number of issues that need to be addressed. In particular:
- Introduction of a reduced excise tax rate on fuel for farmers in the post-war period.
- Establishment of a working group under the Tax Committee to address systemic problems in the relationship between business and the State Tax Service.
- Introduce the publication of the unconditional registration limit for export tax invoices in the taxpayer's electronic office.
- Rebooting the State Tax Service based on the Bureau of Economic Security model, a competition for the head with the participation of international experts and re-certification of employees.
Mykhailo Sokolov, Deputy Chairman of the UAC, emphasized that the agricultural sector was the backbone of Ukraine's economy and stressed the need to strengthen the protection of agribusiness.
“We are grateful for the cooperation, but we expect even more decisive steps in the tax reform, in particular to protect agribusiness in this difficult time,” said the UAC Deputy Chairman.
Danylo Hetmantsev praised the cooperation with farmers and emphasized the importance of continuing the dialog:
“Together we managed to improve legal regulation, in particular, to implement the law on prevention of illegal grain exports. The work on reforms will continue.”
The UAC representatives expressed their readiness to actively continue the process of discussing and implementing legislative changes.
