The UAC as part of the Ukrainian Agrarian Forum (UAF), which unites the country's leading agricultural associations, has appealed to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal to intervene in the situation with the blocking of the process of granting critical status to agricultural enterprises and postponement from military service for their employees. According to the farmers, there has been a massive suspension of the decision-making process for enterprises with critical status recently, which has negative consequences for the industry.
In their appeal, the representatives of the UAF emphasized that the agricultural sector is strategically important for ensuring the country's food security, especially in wartime. Stopping the process of postponement from military service for employees and the inability to extend this status leads to serious disruptions in the production and logistics of agricultural products.
The farmers also pointed out that many companies are unable to extend postponement from military service for their employees due to technical problems on the 'Diia' portal, which increases the risk of stopping production processes. The appeal notes that companies that officially employ people liable for military service are now in an extremely difficult situation due to the loss of the ability to get postponement from military service for their employees.
Leading agricultural associations call on the President to immediately intervene and ensure:
- resumption of the work of state bodies to determine enterprises as critical and to get postponement from military service for their employees;
- automatic extension of the status of critical enterprises and postponement from military service for their employees for two weeks for those whose terms have expired.
The farmers hope for a quick response and support from the President and the Prime Minister, as any delay in resolving this issue could have serious consequences for the agricultural sector and the country's food security.
