On February 11, as part of a discussion round at the “TOP CROPS” International Plant Growing Congress, practitioners will explain how to choose the right tillage technology.

During the discussion, leading experts will share their own experience of applying traditional tillage technology, mini-till, strip-till, and no-till, taking into account the economics of application and the impact on the quality of the soil.

“Due to the use of no-till technology in the cultivation of the soil, we managed to reduce the capitalization of the enterprise and significantly reduce the labor costs and depreciation of the equipment. In addition, the fertile soil layer is better restored and stored, and water and wind erosion can be completely prevented, "- explains the head of the “Arkadia” farm, Vadym Drobitko.

According to him, thanks to no-till their enterprise managed to increase productivity of the sowing unit by 10-20% and to reduce expenses for logistics, storage and preparation of seeds.

At the same time, the head of the enterprise "Rost Agro" Maksym Bernatsky notes that the technology of strip-till was ideally suited for their farm, because it provided the maximum result with the minimum expenses and best proved on seed crops of corn of all ripeness groups.   

“The first time we applied strip-till technology, we had some problems with field evenness, driving accuracy and proper performance. But it was through the change of technology that we were able to minimize the amount of equipment involved in processing, respectively - to save fuel. In addition, soil quality has improved significantly and fertilizers are being introduced more accurately, ”Bernatsky commented.
