Farms of Odesa region, who were affected by the drought last year, will receive partial compensation for lost crops, although the initial version of the Resolution adopted by the Cabinet on the use of funds for financial support of agricultural producers provided compensation only for those were affected in 2021.
This issue was discussed today during the discussion of the Procedure for compensation of crops losses due to man-caused and natural emergencies.
The UAC focused on this fact, notified that farmers in the Odessa region, who lost up to 90% -100% of winter crops in 2020 remained outside the system of state support. Nowadays this inaccuracy has been corrected and a new clause was included. In 2021 it provides subsidies for lost crops from January 1, 2020.
Farmers can count on state aid on an irretrievable basis for UAH 4,700 per 1 hectare of damaged crops, but not more than 50 hectares of crops per 1 recipient.
In future, the permanent version of the Procedure will provide for the provision of subsidies for damaged crops, if the damage occurred in the period from October 1 of the previous year to September 30 of this year.
Companies that are in liquidation or against which bankruptcy proceedings have been initiated will not have right to receive compensation. And those, who have debts to the budget more than 6 months. Farms that have received insurance compensation for lost crops will not be able to count on state aid.
