The main issue that must be settled at the negotiations on the unblocking of Ukrainian ports is the guarantee that Russia will not use it for an attack from the sea. Thus, on the air of the "Espresso" TV channel Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian AgriCouncil Denys Marchuk commented on the statement of the Turkish side about reaching agreements with Russia regarding the creation of a safe sea route from Ukraine.

According to him, nowadays the details of the negotiations between the two countries regarding the export of Ukrainian goods from the Odesa port are unknown. But he emphasized that these meetings take place without the participation of the Ukrainian side.

"These are not the first statements about reaching agreements. A few weeks ago, the heads of foreign affairs of Russia and Turkey already announced the achievement of results. Then Turkey allegedly was supposed to act as a guarantor of the transportation of Ukrainian food to those countries that need it. The next time, Turkey said that they are ready to organize a 4-party format of negotiations: Turkey, Russia, the UN and Ukraine. Security for Ukraine is a key issue for us in these negotiations. If corridors in the Black Sea are to be demined, then there must be guarantees that Ukraine will not be attacked by the occupier from the sea," said Denys Marchuk

There were also statements that Turkey is ready to make a convoy to escort and protect Ukrainian cargo.

"As a state, we are ready to export and we are asking partner countries to act as a third party to provide guarantees that Russia will comply with the agreements. We will see what these negotiations lead to. But our safety is the most important thing in this situation. Moreover, any talks of Russia about exporting grain through their or occupied ports, or escorting our ships by the Russians are unacceptable," added the UAC Deputy Chairman Denys Marchuk.
