Changes of insurance of agricultural producers’ income proposed by UAC are included to the law "On the peculiarities of insurance of agricultural products with state support". Today, the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture together with the National Bank of Ukraine presented amendments to the law for further discussion. Work on their development lasted about a month and UAC took an active part in it.

"We advocated that the law provide for the possibility of insurance not only against weather risks, but also to include the American model - insurance of farmers’ income. After all, even if the weather conditions are good, the price may fall in autumn. As a result, a farmer is harmed. In this case, the insurance company compensates the difference between the actual price and the price, which was fixed by a farmer at the beginning. The task of the farmer is to grow crops in accordance with all technologies. It makes his work more predictable and planned. This type of insurance is absent in the domestic market because of its high cost. But now, with the advent of targeted government support, insurance companies will be able to make appropriate products that will be available to farmers," adviser on cooperation with public authorities of UAC Dmytro Kokhan explains.

The presence of such a type of insurance will also make work with banks easier. After all, income insurance will mean that a farmer will receive his money anyway, and, therefore, will be able to pay on the loan.

The law also stipulates that the state will make up to 80% of the insurance payments cost compensation for a farmer. Minister of the Ministry of Economic Development of Ihor Petrashko noted that the developed concept of the bill has already been submitted for discussion to the central executive body. After comments from the ministries and approval of positions, the Cabinet of Ministers to the Verkhovna Rada will submit the document.
