Medium-sized businesses are the locomotive for the development of the domestic agricultural sector, which, under proper working conditions, can ensure Ukraine's rapid economic growth. However, the existing state policy is not aimed at supporting average agricultural producers, which generate 65% of the agricultural GDP of our state.
This was announced by the chairman of the UAC Andriy Dykun during his speech at the round table in the framework of the presentation of the program of the New economic course from the party "Batkivshchyna".
"40% of our foreign currency revenue is provided by the agrarian sector. According to various estimates, it ranges from 15% to 17% of GDP. At the same time, 65% of the agricultural GDP of Ukraine is produced by the medium agrarian business, 25% by large and 10% by small-scale agrarian business ... Thus, the driving force behind the development of the agrarian sector in Ukraine is the medium-sized enterprises," said Andriy Dykun.
In the framework of his speech, Andriy Dykun spoke about the main problems of the domestic agrarian sector, which require the fastest solution.
Including:
- an unfair state support mechanism that proved its inefficiency in 2018, but despite this, according to government plans, may be extended for the following year;
- government plans for the early opening of the land market in conditions of complete state unprepared for such an important step;
- the dominance of raiding, which swept across the country;
- excessively high prices for fertilizers on the domestic market, through which agricultural producers lose much of their crop;
- lack of skilled personnel due to ineffective education system;
- misguided state policy and so on.
The UAC leader called on politicians to listen to the problems of the village and begin to carry out really effective and necessary reforms, the importance of which is emphasized by domestic agricultural producers.
