We survived because we worked. Andrii Pastushenko, director of Dnipro LLC, told this during the round table "Marshall Plan for the agricultural sector, promising business directions for suppliers in 2022-2023", which was organized by the Ukrainian Agri Council, the Association of Milk Producers and Association of Ukrainiane Pigs Breeders within the framework of  the leading livectock exhibition EuroTier2022 in Hannover.

The Dnipro LLC farm is located in the south of Ukraine and has 1,500 hectares of sown land as well as a dairy farm.

"On February 24, I woke up at 5 o'clock in the morning from a phone call in which I heard the single word: "War". That day, we decided not to stop work, because we had to milk and feed cows every day. Therefore, on February 24, we went to the field and started sowing barley", Andrii Pastushenko said.

Three days lately, the grocery stores ran out of food, and the farm decided to distribute 1 liter of milk for free. All needy residents of neighboring villages, nuring homes and humanitarian organizations received it.

"After 10 days of full-scale war, we started our own processing: butter and cheese. Unlike us, all the enterprises around were no longer working. Thanks to the fact that the cows forced us to continue working, we survived and became the only ones who were able to feed Kherson when it was under occupation. We were even partially able to harvest. Our workers worked despite of the hostilities nearby, they are the heroes like our soldiers of the Armed Forces," he emphasized.

On November 11, the Armed Forces liberated the farm from occupation. And the Ukrainian flag flew over the building of Dnipro farm.
