The extension of the humanitarian grain corridor, which took place this week, revived the functioning of the grain market. Sale prices of barley, wheat, and corn have begun to rise.

This was discussed on March 21 during the weekly briefing organized by the analytical center of the cooperative "PUSK", created within the framework of the UAC.

"After the extension of the grain agreement demand is reviving in the markets for barley, wheat, corn, the prices are slightly, but steadily increasing. Before that, the markets were inactive, waiting for the re-signing of the humanitarian corridor agreement. Demand is growing in Reni and Odessa ports. In fact, the grain supply that was focused on small ports, now is being redirected to Odesa. In the future, local competition between the Black Sea and Danube ports will intensify, which can also positively affect prices," said analyst Oleksiy Tartakovskyi.

According to forecasts, barley prices will rise to $203-205/ton. Already at the beginning of April, prices for wheat and corn on the terms of CPT Odesa may reach $223/t and $212/t, respectively.
