Today, July 7, during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy, Deputies did not support the initiative to introduce duties on soybean and rapeseed exports. Sixteen members of the committee voted against the initiative, demonstrating their awareness of the risks to small and medium-sized agrarian businesses and their support for the latter's position.

The Ukrainian Agri Council (UAC) once again emphasized that the introduction of duties would only exacerbate problems in the industry, reduce farmers' incomes, and lower the competitiveness of Ukrainian products on world markets.

Despite the clear position of the Agricultural Committee, the Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, on the contrary, recommends introducing duties.

The UAC thanks all members of parliament for their firm stance in defending agricultural producers and calls on parliamentarians not to create artificial barriers to the development of the agricultural sector, which will lose UAH 17 billion if duties are introduced.
