The struggle continues! Our common goal is to ensure that such amendments are made, that will truly meet the interests of Ukraine, the hopes of the Ukrainian society and the promises made by the President.
Yesterday, the Ukrainian Parliament launched a land reform in the country by voting for the bill № 2178-10 "On Amendments to Some Legislative Acts of Ukraine on the Circulation of Agricultural Land."
UAC would like to thank all of those who supported agrarians in their struggle for the fair land market: to all agrarians, farmers, rural residents, activists, who joined this struggle to receive this result; profile organizations - the Agrarian Union of Ukraine, the Association of Livestock Farmers of Ukraine, the Association of Farmers and Private Landowners of Ukraine; political parties -“Fatherland”, “National Corps”, “Opposite Block - for Life”, the All-Ukrainian Union “Svoboda”, people's deputies of “The Servant of People” faction, who supported the agrarians.
Unfortunately, the majority did not listen to the demands of agricultural producers. The bill was not sent for the first re-reading, which would have allowed to relieve the tension in the society and submit a revised bill to the Parliament, containing all the necessary norms, including what the president has promised.
However, together we managed to get one of the most important victories for Ukraine - to get public assurances from the President and the leader of the parliamentary majority, Volodymyr Zelensky, that the land market bill will be amended and, above all, that the issue of foreigners' admission will be resolved during the National Referendum.
Therefore, the struggle continues. And our common goal is to bring about such amendments that will really be in the interests of Ukraine, the hopes of the Ukrainian society and the promises made by the President.
- The fate of the land must be decided by the people. The issue of admission of foreigners to the land market of Ukraine should be solved solely through an all-Ukrainian referendum. Prior to its holding, only the state, local self-government bodies, citizens of Ukraine and companies whose founders (participants) are exclusively citizens of Ukraine can buy the land.
- Land should belong to people, not to oligarchs! Therefore, it is necessary to drastically reduce the maximum size of the agricultural land that can be owned by a single owner (including related persons) from the 214 thousand hectares proposed by the government (an area equal to 2.5 of Kyiv territories).
- Gradual launch of the market. In the first stage, only the state, local self-government bodies and citizens of Ukraine will be able to buy the land.
UAC encourages everyone who is not indifferent to join and fight together for the right to work on their own land!
