Today on the main highways of Ukraine there was a protest of agrarians who called on the authorities to listen to their demands in the matter of launching the land market.

The action took place in seven regions: Cherkasy, Odessa, Poltava, Chernihiv, Vinnitsa, Zaporizhia and Rivne regions.

We have clear requirements that we consistently uphold. The first is that foreigners are not allowed to enter the land market. The second is to reduce the concentration of land in one hand to 5 thousand hectares. And most importantly, we demand that the reform be phased in. In the first stage, only natural persons-citizens of Ukraine are allowed to enter the land market and only then - within 5 years - legal entities whose founders are exclusively Ukrainians will be admitted. We believe that the last step-by-step requirement is paramount, since it alone can prevent a variety of land speculation. Otherwise, the corporate rights of land-owning companies will be resold, "stressed UAC Deputy Chairman Mykhaylo Sokolov. 

The action lasted for two hours. However, farmers say they are ready to take part in protests until their demands are met.
