Public Association "All-Ukrainian Agrarian Forum" on behalf of its members (the Ukrainian Agricultural Council (UAC), the Agrarian Union of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club, the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation and the Ukrainian Association of Village and Settlement Councils) call on people's deputies to consider and support the bill No. 6527-d about agricultural cooperation on July 5.
The draft law introduces an effective model of the economic activity of the agricultural cooperative, which allows it to increase its competitiveness in the agrarian market, prevents double taxation (both at the level of the cooperative and at the level of its members). In addition, the draft law makes it possible to act both for the purpose of profit and to save for itself non-profit status.
The importance of the early consideration and adoption of the bill is due to its Euro-integration orientation - Articles 403 and 404 of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU in order to promote the development of agriculture and rural areas, in particular by gradual convergence of policies and legislation.
The preparation of this bill was based on best international practices and experiences with the participation of a number of leading European and Canadian experts supported by FAO and the EBRD, the Government of Canada.
Agrarian associations point out that adoption of the bill No. 6527-d would allow Ukraine's legislation to be adapted to the legislation of the European Union member states, Canada and the United States, which are world leaders in terms of the level of development of agricultural cooperation. In addition, its adoption will contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of small and medium-sized producers, in particular, and the social development of rural areas in general.
