UAC representatives held meetings with over 200 farmers in 6 regions of Ukraine this week.

UAC Deputy Chairman Denis Marchuk and UAC Land Lawyer Victoria Kipriyanov worked in Lviv, Volyn, Zhytomyr and Vinnytsia regions. Deputy Chairman of the UAC Alexander Slipchenko communicated with the Agrarians of Odesa and Kirovograd region.

The main topic of the discussion was the issue of the land market introduction. The UAC representatives highlighted the danger of the bill № 2178-10 to Ukraine on the possibility of buying up to 210 thousand hectares “in a single pair of hands”. This is a direct threat to the oligarchization of the agricultural sector. That is why the UAC will insist to amend the bill, so that this limit is substantially restricted until its second reading in Parliament.

The UAC representatives also delivered their position on the land reform to the agrarians, which consist, first of all, in the phased launching of the land market. At the first preparatory stage, there’s the inventory of land, creation of mechanisms for financing small and medium-sized business, fighting against raiding. Next is the launch of the land market for individuals only. And then, just in a few years - for legal entities. The introduction of significant restrictions on land ownership was also discussed.

Victoria Kipriyanova consulted agricultural producers on the issues of land lease and possibilities of its early termination, and she also paid attention to declaring fuel depots for own needs.
