A meeting of farmers of Cherkasy region took place, during which the MP of the parliamentary faction "Opposition Platform - for Life" Yuriy Boyko joined the discussion of the most pressing problems of the agrarian industry.
The most discussed topic was the introduction of the land market. UAC Deputy Chairman Mykhaylo Sokolov stressed two key points in the bill that need to be corrected.
The first is the complete absence of a transition period that would allow all market participants, including the authorities, to adapt to new conditions.
The second is the existence of a norm in the bill on assignment of the priority right of land redemption. This rule is advantageous for agro holdings that can transfer their right to shell companies and thus buy land.
"And, as it may sound, the availability of the number of amendments considered by the Verkhovna Rada today gives us the opportunity to work with the deputies, to convey our position to them. ", Mykhaylo Sokolov said.
Yuriy Boyko stressed that the land reform should be carried out in the interests of villagers and those who work with land:
"When I went to the countryside, I saw a lot of farmers who live there, create jobs, and care about the welfare of the people; to whom (farmers) the village council heads when help is needed. And thanks to these people, villages still live. That's why the main thing today is to protect people living in the villages, "Yuriy Boyko said.
In addition, the agricultural producers discussed the issues of illegal land plundering, high prices for domestic fertilizers, transfer of water to the land fund, and emphasized the need to renew the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
