Investments in new technologies and irrigation, transition to new systems of soil cultivation, biologization  of agriculture - agricultural producers during the TOP CROPS International Congress on Plant Growing shared their experience of optimizing their business.

In particular, Volodymyr Khvostov, the head of “Dolinske” Trading House LLC in Kherson, has major investments in soil irrigation. This enables the farm to receive high yields: barley and wheat up to 8-10 tons / ha, corn - 12-12,5 tons / ha, sunflower - 4-5 tons / ha, soybeans - 4,5-5 tons / Ha.

“Our company has 14.5 thousand hectares of land, 70% of which are irrigation systems. This is over 10 thousand hectares and we invest annually in expanding the irrigation area. Over the last 6 years, we have restored and built irrigation systems on about 3 thousand hectares of land. It is necessary to invest about 2 thousand dollars for 1 hectare ", Volodymyr Khvostov noted.

In addition, the Khvostov’s economy has been implementing the latest technologies for the last 3 years. In particular, precise farming.

“We have connected to the “Kropio” remote control of agricultural land and for the last 3 years we have been fertilizing and sowing according to the map, which is formed through constant monitoring and analysis of soils. Also thanks to the program we constantly monitor the vegetation indices, we see where we have "white" spots in the fields ", Khvostov said.

The agricultural enterprise of LLC “Perlyna Podillya”, which is located in Khmelnytskyi region, switched to strip-till soil tillage system. According to the manager of the enterprise Sergiy Ivashchuk, it gives them an opportunity to collect 3.5-3.8 tons of rapeseed from 1 ha, even in dry weather.

“It's good for our area. At the same time, we have reduced the costs of sowing by 15%, because strip-tills have much less technological treatments, ”Ivashchuk explains.

The “Kolos” agricultural firm in Kyiv region adheres to the traditional soil tillage system, but optimizes its agricultural production through the application of a unique balanced agricultural organic farming system developed directly on the farm.
