The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations, in response to the appeal of the Ukrainian Agri Council and other agrarian associations, called on Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman and also acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Maxim Martynyuk and acting Head of the State Fiscal Service Oleksandr Vlasov to help unblock the import of mineral fertilizers to Ukraine.

"This is a complete and unreasonable stop by the customs authorities of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine for the import of mineral fertilizers from the countries of the European Union, as well as Belarus, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Georgia and other partner countries of Ukraine. There is no justification for these actions by the customs authorities... Dear Volodymyr Borisovich, we ask you to intervene in the situation with the purpose of urgently unlocking the import of mineral fertilizers", - reads the text of the official appeal from deputies.

Thus, an unjustified delay in the customs clearance of imports of mineral fertilizers jeopardizes the implementation of international treaties. In addition, agricultural companies pay a fee for standstill of cars to PJSC "Ukrzaliznytsia".

"We, as people's deputies of Ukraine, are extremely concerned about the catastrophic situation prevailing during the preparation for the spring sowing campaign. After all, the stable introduction of a sufficient amount of mineral fertilizers is a guarantee of obtaining high and sustainable yields ", - added the deputies of the Agrarian Committee.

According to the text of the appeal, further blockage of imports of mineral fertilizers will lead to a sharp rise in the deficit of mineral fertilizers and an increase in their prices for the end consumer. It is important to note that mineral fertilizers traditionally occupy up to 30% of the cost of spring fieldwork.

At the same time, the reduction of mineral fertilizers will lead to a decrease in the productivity of agrarian production and gross collections of grain and oil crops in Ukraine, an increase in the cost price of cultivated products, a decrease in the competitiveness of domestic agricultural producers, the loss of world markets and a decrease in foreign exchange earnings in the country.

"We believe that the situation with the supply of mineral fertilizers to Ukraine jeopardizes the food and economic security of the state", - summed up the deputies.

The UAC thanks for the signing of this appeal to the people's deputies: Alexander Bakumenko, Mykola Kucher, Anatoly Kuzmenko, Vadim Ivchenko, Valery Davydenko, Vitaliy Gudzenko, Leonid Kozachenko, Ivan Kirilenko, Oleksiy Mushak, Valentin Didich, Sergiy Khlan, Vladislav Golub, Oleg Kulinych, Valery Lucchenko, Igor Britshenko.
