Today in the Khmelnytsk regional hospital died the participant of UAC, the deputy of the Belogirsk village council, the philanthropist Volodymyr Matviets died. One week ago, unknown individuals attacked and tortured farmers, demanding money.

"After the injuries and operations, his heart failed. Volodymyr Matviets died. UAC expresses its sincere condolences to the family and relatives. We prepare an official appeal to law enforcement agencies to investigate this case to identify and punish those responsible for such a crime!”, UAC Chairman Andrii Dykun said.

Unknown people inflicted bodily harm on the man, using an iron and pouring boiling water over him. His son was cut at the base of his skull with a hummer, and his wife's head was beaten.

After the attack, Mr. Matviyets was taken to the burn unit of the regional hospital, where he was operated. During the treatment, he contracted coronavirus disease. He died on November 8th, 2020.
