During the panel discussion "Prospects for the opening of the land market", held in the framework of Agri Invest Forum 2018, 70% of the farmers voted against the lifting of the land moratorium.
If the market is to be opened, more than 55% propose to introduce the land flow gradually, starting with the lands of state and communal property, and then in the framework of a pilot project on the sale of private land in selected areas.
94% of the 450 presenters of agrarian enterprises are interested in buying agricultural land, but are afraid to be deceived.
Taking into account the results of the voting, the head of the agrarian committee, Alexander Bakumenko, urged the farmers to jointly discuss and work out a single concept of lifting the land moratorium: "It is necessary to define clear norms for the introduction of the land market. We have already received a consolidated vision of introducing the market from agrarian associations; in the future, we will discuss it in a working group and pass it to the Cabinet. On the basis of the common concept a new bill will be developed".
People's deputy Vadim Ivchenko supported this position, noting that Ukraine is not ready to open the land market right now.
"To date, 8 million hectares of land is in the shadow. We do not know how much there is in the emphasis, as it goes on the petitions. We need another 5 years moratorium to work out an effective model of the market ", - said the People's Deputy.
