In particular, the sharp increase in wheat exports was observed in the first half of the season. Asian countries, Egypt, Bangladesh and Turkey remained the main markets.

As for barley, in the first half of this season Ukraine exported twice as much as in the previous season.

“At the moment, barley prices have decreased, but they are at a relatively normal level. This was due to barley overproduction caused by high prices in 2018 despite the fact that the market volume remained the same, ”the speaker explained.

In addition, the expert predicts corn yield in the current season to 35 million tons, 30 million of which will go to foreign markets.

The expert considers the introduction of the land market to be one of the main trends of the next season that will affect the agrarian sector. He predicts that the land reform will determine the tendency and strategies of agricultural production for the next 3-4 years. At the same time, the issue of storage of the crop, respectively, the construction of grain elevators will be urgently raised. River transportation can take an important place in logistics. According to Sergiy Feofilov, looking at the results of 2019, annual shipments reached 12 million tons.

"Adopting a river law will definitely affect the attractiveness of river transport as the most promising one," the expert said.
