At the invitation of the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), Andrii Dykun, Chairman of the Ukrainian Agrarian Council, took part in an online event organized jointly with the American Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Jefferson Institute.

The discussion focused on the labor market, education, and human resources policy, which is important for the state.

"Even now, during the war, we have to think about how to bring Ukrainians back home, what conditions should be created in the state, in addition to security, of course, so that parents can return with their children. And this is a frankly difficult situation, because children who left because of the war with their parents have been studying in European educational institutions for more than a year now, and they see a huge difference between our schools and European ones. Parents, realizing all the advantages in the format of education, in the approach to the educational process, stay in Poland, Germany or the UK because they think about the future of their children," said Andriy Dykun.

In his opinion, many talented young people may not return, even after the Victory, if Ukraine does not offer conditions comparable to those of European countries.

The shortage of personnel in the agricultural sector may be increased after the war.

“If we take, for example, the agricultural sector, which I represent and for which it is extremely important to attract talented, educated young professionals, it was not easy to find young people who really want to work in the agricultural sector even before the war. That is why the Ukrainian Agrarian Lyceum was established at the Ukrainian Agri Council. We have managed to create such a high level educational institution that children who went abroad because of the hostilities have all returned home because they like studying here in Ukraine. We have children from 15 regions of Ukraine and we have a waiting list for our lyceum. Now our dream is to expand and scale it. The more high-level educational institutions with a modern educational program, the more Ukrainians will return home," added the UAC Chairman.
